Happy Halloween, everyone!

Noah had his 6 month check up today. Didn’t go really well. At his 4 month check up, he weighed 14 lbs, 14 oz and was 26 inches long. Today he weighed 14 lbs, 8 oz and was 27 inches long. He went from 50% for weight to 10th. Crud. The ped says it’s not as worrying as it would be if his length and head circumference weren’t increasing. Those are the 2 important ones, because they show skeletal growth and brain growth. So his bones and his head are growing. The breastmilk is apparently giving him enough calories to grow his bones and brain, but not to put on weight. We have to really get into the solids now – 3x a day. Of course, Noah doesn’t like solids. He HATES cereal, and is so-so on the orange veggies. And today we tried green beans, which promptly came back out of his mouth. The ped wants us to come back in a month for the second half of his flu shot (provided there are any doses left by then) and to check his weight.

Noah got carrots tonight. I think he’s actually starting to not hate this food thing. He eats it at least. What doesn’t get smeared on his face that is.

Yesterday, we found out Noah can sit up with the help of his boppy. He can’t do it alone yet, but he’s getting there!
