Another blood test
Emily is having her “Quads” test done today (some of you may know it as the AFP test or the Trips test). We’ll post the results here when we know them!

our first registry run
We did our first baby registry run today! We did the aisles in Babies-R-Us and got an initial list going. You can find it here (will open in a new window, Babies-R-Us online is brought to you through Amazon.com). I’ll be keeping a running
tally of places we’ve registered at (including a list of random things we want but that aren’t through registries

14 weeks – blood tests and a first heartbeat listen
We had our latest monthly checkup (Emily is now 14 weeks, 5 days into the pregnancy)! All the blood tests came back negative (including CF and Tay-Sachs (i.e. the Jewish Screen as the midwife called it, since it has other names now)), and we got to listen to the heartbeat. You can listen to it here (175 KB .wav file). The heartrate was 147 beats per minute. You can also faintly hear Emily’s pulse in the background (the slower of the 2 beats). We’re on schedule to do an ultrasound again in early December, around the 22 week milestone.
